What are your impressions regarding the use of technology in the classroom? How much technology do you plan to use when you teach? What specific technologies are you planning on utilizing? Have you been in a classroom yourself where technology was effectively integrated?
I think that an effective use of technology in the classroom can be stunted by the limited resources of a school district. I plan to work in an urban area, and hope to utilize technology as much as possible, but am prepared for the possibility that available technology may be limited.

ReplyDeleteI think that technology in a classroom is a neat thing for the students to interact with and learn from. When I teach I hope to use technology during some of my activities and then into health. I have never been in a class where we used a lot of technology, maybe a typing class but that was no web browsing mostly typing.
ReplyDeleteI really am enjoying how much I didn't know about macs and google documents. I feel like I will employ technology in most of my lessons along with primary source documents. I feel like technology gives students more access to other sources that were not available in past centuries. I will utilize powerpoint and google documents now that I have been exposed to it. My current cooperating teacher for my field experience uses her smart board daily as well as internet sources.
ReplyDeleteI want to utilize many types of technology such as wikispaces and voki as well as blogger. I want my students to be well rounded when it comes to using different types of technology. I haven't really been in a classroom at the high school level where technology is implemented well but some of my college classes are really fascinating.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed learning about google docs, i feel that it is something i will definitely use in the future. I had a few classes in high school that used a smart board. but thats about it for technology in my classes, except for the old transparency sheets.. But this stuff is pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteThe use of technology in the classroom is a something new for me. I am more of a paper and pen type of guy. I would like to learn how to incorporate technology into some of my classroom planning when it is appropriate. I was a temporary math teacher at a high school level where I have seen technology being used and I began to use some technology such a smart board, geometry sketch pad, and other strategies.
ReplyDeleteI think using technology in the classroom is a great idea. It will be a great addition to the class not only because it allows the students to become well-rounded. I would like to use as much as the school allows me. Unfortunately, some schools do not get the proper funding and don't have newer technological advances. I think many classes try to incorporate technology into the classroom but sometimes they are limited in their knowledge of technology sometimes the students know more than the teacher. For example, my grandmother was never required to take new technology classes as a teacher and she was a computer science teacher.
ReplyDeleteIn my chemistry class in high school, technology was effectively integrated on a daily basis. I believe the use of technology helps teachers get their students more involved in their lessons. By getting all their students involved it helps them with less issues with students in class and give the students a better learning experience. I hope to use some use of technology if I have the materials. Some technology I would use would be like pedometers and smart boards in health class.
ReplyDeleteI am a physical education teacher who uses technological resources in my classroom such as heart rate monitors, pedometers, and video assistants. I plan on using technology to further explain a topic in which technology is needed. Such as pedometers during a physical fitness unit or a heart rate monitor when trying to document exercise bouts. I have participated in the classroom where these technologies have been used and it is a great benefit to the students when they can see how physical fitness is good for them.

ReplyDeleteI hope that all of you will learn some great tools that you can use when you teach in your own classrooms. Many schools now are getting smartboards in every classroom. Learning the tools you see here will allow you to see great ways to use the FREE technology to make your students excited to learn.

@Thiago I never knew about google docs I had the same type of class environment in HS. This google docs is pretty cool.
